Green Initiatives

Current or Recent Projects to Green Initiatives
This year we added another $1,000 in insulation to our facilities. In addition, we installed heavy outside screens to all the west and south facing windows. We expect a 20% reduction in heating and cooling cost savings this year and all future years.

5 Ways We are Reducing Our Environmental Footprint

GreenGlobe

1. Minimizing Printing
We minimize paper use by recycling misprints as scrap paper, avoiding printing unnecessary documents, using recycled printer paper and recycled business card stock.

2. Digitizing Documentation
Instead of mailing out a newsletter, we send e-Newsletters. We email product tutorials, and archive them in pdf format on our website. Sales reps, support staff and support technicians frequently telecommute and interface via remote desktop and video conferencing to eliminate unnecessary travel.

3.Recycling & Composting
All company mail is sorted and either recycled as is, or cross-cut shredded and then recycled. Shipping materials and packing materials are reused. Food waste from employee meals is composted. Glass and aluminum waste are also recycled. All outmoded electronic equipment is either resold, donated or recycled responsibly.

4. Pulling the Plug on Power
At the end of the business day, lights are turned off, along with unused computers, monitors, fans, printers and other office equipment.

5. Utilizing Green Energy
Our business is run within a facility that is powered almost exclusively by SOLAR POWER. Solar panels were installed on the roof of our building, and since 2009 we have been doing our part to use green energy. Additionally, an extra foot of insulation was added to the inside of the building, to reduce reliance on heating and cooling. Over the past five years we have effectively reduced our electrical energy requirements by 80%.
