QA Studio: Fluid Data Accuracy

QA Studio is an extremely helpful quality assurance tool that allows you to have your testing data available at you fingertips. This data can be used to troubleshoot, report and graph information within seconds. For meaningful information, it is very important that the data in QA Studio is entered accurately.

Below, are examples of how QA Studio helps you enter data accurately into the program.

Production Date and Fill Date: When entering the fill date and the production date, if they are more than one day apart, QA Studio will prompt you to check the dates. Typically, the fill date (when it was packaged on the filler) as compared to the production date (date scheduled to be processed and packaged) are generally the same day or within a day.

Production and Fill Date more than one day apart

Code Date and Expected Code Date: If the code date entered by the user is different than the expected code date, a warning box will pop up and alert user to check the dates. Please note: This feature can be turned on or off by going to Fluid Program Menu > Fluid Defaults > Data Entry Defaults > Warn on Code Dates. Also, in Fluid Defaults you can set the expected code to be based off of the fill date or the production date.

Code Date different than Expected Code Date

Fill Date and Current Date: When entering the fill date, if the fill date is more than 32 days different than the current date, a pop up box will alert the QA Studio user.

Warning that Fill Date is more than 32 days different than the current date.

Correct Issues with Dates: If you would like to check to make sure dates were entered correctly, you can go to Select Date Range > Odd Dates > enter the date range >click OK. Any entries that may have date entry errors are listed in the main window.

Check for Odd Dates

Entered Dates: The Entered Date is documented by QA Studio in the background. If you are looking for samples and can not find them by the Fill Date, Test Date, Production Date or Code Date, you could perform the Find on Entered Date. The Entered Date for a particular sample can be located on the Fluid Main Product Window > Hold tab. There is an Entered Date, a Modified Date and a unique Sequence Number. The Sequence Number indicates the number in sequence of when the sample was added to the database. This may help correct any date issues by knowing the sequence in order in which the sample was added to the program.

Entered Date Information

Weights: If a QA Studio user is checking the filler packaged samples on two different fillers packaging two different sizes, they may inadvertently enter the weight for the sample off of one filler for the other filler. This feature can help catch such errors. Also, if the user incorrectly enters the number, this feature can also help catch this type of error too. The user will be alerted if there is more than 5% difference than the spec. In the example below, the user meant to enter 4000 and inadvertently entered 400.

Weight Alert

To change the percent from spec > Fluid Program Menu > Fluid Defaults > Data Entry Defaults (tab), Alert for Weight %Percent from Spec > Edit percent.

Weights View: To check the weights at a glance to find any possible data entry errors, you can change the view to the Weights List view and look at the Diff column. In the example; below the diff column has -3687. That indicates a probable incorrect entry.

Butterfat: Occasionally, when the QA Studio user is checking the filler packaged line samples, they may inadvertently enter the butterfat for one product such as a homo and switch with a another product being packaged on another filler such as a skim. QA Studio is set to warn if there is more than a .5 difference above the high spec or a .5 difference below the low spec to help eliminate these types of data entry errors.

Butterfat Warn

If you would like to change the difference from spec > Fluid Program Menu > Fluid Defaults > General Info(tab), Warn if BF is +/- this amount out of spec.

Benefit to QA Studio User: Help user enter accurate data into QA Studio.
