QA Studio: Fluid Program - Custom Report Writer

Spotlight Feature: Custom Report Writer

A report can easily be generated and shared with those within the facility to convey product quality results. The report can be set up to print specific colors to indicate specific quality levels for easy viewing.

Simplify Communication within the plant. Determine patterns that may be affecting quality.

Example of a Custom Report: In the report below; there are three different colors indicating three different levels of results. The green fields indicate 90% pass and above. The yellow fields indicate warning levels and for this report the warning level is set to 85%-90%. The red fields indicate results below 85%. In this example; the End of Code flavor was graphed by filler and by operator. The different colors may make it easier to observe quality issues.Custom Report

1. Set up a Folder: Choose a drive and make a folder for the generated reports to be saved. For example: Go to > My Computer > Select Local Disk (C:) > File > New > Folder > Name the new folder "QAS Reports". This only needs to be set up one time.

4. Custom Report Window: In the Custom Report Window > Select the Test > Select the Break Out By > Select the Sort By > Select either %Fail, %Pass or Fail Count > Select Color It (or not) > Enter Warn and Fail Level > Click GET DATA. When the report is ready to save and print, Click > GENERATE > Click VIEW in BROWSER. When in the browser, click Print. Below are just two examples of the several different ways a report can be set up. The final settings will be retained for the next time the Custom Report Window is opened, but can be changed as needed.

Set on Fail CountSet on %Pass

File: The data may be viewed many different ways by simply selecting different sort criteria and then by clicking GET DATA. It is when GENERATE is clicked that a file is saved in the folder that was set up earlier. The name of the file will start with Fluid (for the Fluid program) and then the year (10), then the current date and time. The default file extension is html. You can rename the file and change the extension to .xls for an Excel file (for example), though html files are also easy to print. To change the extension, right click on the file and select rename, then change the .html to .xls. Another option, copy the file first and then rename the copied file with the .xls extension, the report will then be in both html and xls.

Report Path

HTML File: An HTML file can be easily printed. After you click GENERATE then click VIEW in BROWSER and click PRINT (once you are in your browser). If need to change page orientation; select Portrait or Landscape in your Print box properties. To set up the Browser to print in color (if not already set up), while in the browser go to > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced (tab) > Printing > Select Print Background Colors and Images > Apply. Once this is applied it will keep for further reports. Only need to set up one time.
