QA Studio - Raw Program - Monitor & Reduce Loss

Important in a dairy processing plant is monitoring the incoming raw tankers for quality and checking the components and weights to make sure you are receiving what you are purchasing. QA Studio can help this monitoring process.

Weight of the Raw Milk Received: In QA Studio; the manifest weight (typically, a measurement taken by the driver at the dairy farm), can be entered in either the LBS field or the Gallons field. QA Studio will make the conversion to gallons from pounds or visa versa. The conversion factor is setup in the Raw Product Specs window for each product. In the Raw Defaults > Data Entry Defaults > Warning Level: an alert percentage can be setup. For example: setting up the warning level at .50% will set QA Studio to turn the calculated LBS Diff and % Diff the color red to alert the user, if either the % Diff comparison from the meter or the scale to the manifest weight is more than .50% or -.50%. Each facility can enter their alert percentage.

Manifest Weight

The weight  from the incoming  raw milk tanker manifest can be entered into QA Studio.

Meter and ScaleRed - Meter and Scale

The meter gallons can be entered if the plant has a meter and a plant scale weight can be entered if the plant uses a scale. The full (gross) weight of the tanker and the empty (tare) weight can be entered and QA Studio will do the math and calculate the Net Wt. QA Studio will also determine the LBS diff and the % Diff from the manifest weight.

Raw Defaults - Setup: In the Raw Program Menu > Reports Defaults > Choose the Official Weight for comparison. As below; choosing the Plant Scale; the graph will show the % Wgt Diff of the Manifest weight versus the Plant Scale. In this graph; for Route 10: the plant scale net weight was 1.48% higher than the manifest weight.

Official Weight.

Raw Value Graph 2: The %weight difference from the tankers versus the weights obtained by either the meter or the scale can be graphed in QA Studio. The graph can be be sorted any criteria. Selecting; route, hauler or driver (if documenting the driver) may be helpful. Note: the percentages determined on the graphs may be slightly different than the Weights Report. The graphs are determined by an average of the percentages. The Weights Reports are determined by the pounds difference divided by the total amount.

Graph of %Wgt Diff by Route

Report by Driver

Raw Weights Report: Raw Program Menu > Raw Reports > Weight Comparison Reports. The Standard Report and the By Driver report will compare the manifest weight with the other weight that was setup as the "Official Weight".

Weight Report Selections

These reports are extremely helpful and can be sorted from High to Low to find the routes or drivers with the largest loss first.

Sort High to Low

The other three reports: Weight Report, Weights by Route and Weights by Driver compares all three amounts, (the manifest weight, plant scale and plant meter).

Raw Dairy Report: The Butterfat and components from the incoming raw milk supplier can be entered into QA Studio on the QA Data tab and can be compared with your in-house testing.

Their or Supplier %BF

Raw Program Menu > Raw Reports > Dairy Reports > %BF and %SNF by Route. Note: if checking one day of data may want to choose %BF and %SNF by Date. If checking several days of data may want to choose by Route.
